Her Sister Asked To Borrow Her Custom Wedding Dress That Their Mom Made, But After She Said No, Her Sister Started Crying

As a compromise of sorts, she did say that Jess could have her wedding veil, which their mom also handmade.

“She started complaining, saying that it wouldn’t hurt me to borrow the dress, the adjustments would be minimal, she was the only one of the sisters who can’t have something done by our mom, and she basically has to turn to me to get something of hers,” she explained.

“She practically begged me to borrow the dress. I feel bad for her, but I really don’t want to modify something in the dress because it’s a memory of my mom and one of the best days of my life; it was just for me. In the face of all this, I don’t feel comfortable borrowing the dress, but that I could make the concession of the veil.”

“She walked away crying after I stood by my decision, saying that I was being selfish not to allow her to have any feelings close to having something done for our mother and not being able to share something so special with her too when she will never have something close to that.”

She would be heartbroken to have to alter her wedding dress in any way, shape, or form, as it’s so meaningful to her. Since having this conversation with Jess, all of her loved ones have been ganging up on her and calling her terrible names.

Her dad, Jess’s fiancé, and even Jess’s in-laws have all given her a piece of their minds, and what they had to say was not nice. The only person who is refusing to pick a side in all of this is her oldest sister. She’s left wondering if it really is so mean of her not to want to let Jess have her wedding dress.

Do you think she should allow Jess to wear her dress so that Jess can have a wedding dress that their mom made too?
