Alice was so touched that she ended up sobbing when he asked her. She, of course, said yes, and he’s thrilled.
Unfortunately, is mom is way less than excited, and when she did find out that he asked Alice to dance with him too, she absolutely lost it.
His mom accused him of trying to replace her just like his dad did.
“I told her it’s not a replacement, but she’s been so supportive of me my entire life, and I consider her a true “bonus mother,” so I don’t want to exclude her,” he said.
“She doesn’t want to accept that. Yesterday my aunt (mom’s sister) called me and ripped me a new one. I know it’s a little controversial, but in my heart, it’s what I really want to do.”
He has been to weddings in the past where the bride or groom had two mother-son dances or two father-daughter dances, and he always thought it was a great touch.
He is planning to shorten the songs he picked for his dance with his mom and Alice so nothing will be too lengthy, but he’s still not sure if it’s mean for him to be picking both of them to dance with him in the first place.
Do you think it’s sweet of him to have asked Alice to also be a part of his wedding in this way, or do you think he should have found another way to make her feel included?
