Internet users were tweeting that Paige looked heavy and not as good without social media filters.
“When you’re at a stadium that has severe overhead lighting, fluorescent overhead lighting, you’re just not going to look your best,” explains Paige. “And so I have just felt this immense pressure to look perfect all the time.”
Paige then explains in her video that she believes the added attention and pressure has come after she was named Sexiest Woman Alive for Maxim, an international men’s magazine’s 2022 issue.
This has caused Paige to place extra stress on herself to always look her absolute best in photos and in person. However, there are still people out there determined to make her feel bad by commenting harsh things about her appearance.
“I think this is a valuable conversation that everyone should be having about having to feel this pressure of presenting a certain way and how that can take a toll on you,” says Paige about body-shaming.
Despite dealing with the internet drama, Paige is determined not to let the trolls bring her down. She explains in her video that she wants to continue sharing her feelings and vulnerability on the internet to “help others” who may be going through something similar.
You go, Paige!
