As We Head Into 2023, Here’s A Look Back At Some Of The Most Popular Fashion Fads Of 2022: Spoiler Alert, HBO Hit Show “Euphoria” Takes The Cake As The Most Fashionable TV Show

Maddy, on the other hand, is the confident, extroverted, and emotional character played by Alexa Demie. These traits ultimately translated into Maddy coming off as a more abrasive force in the show– and her edgier style, which includes sharp-winged eyeliner, fitted bodices, and the iconic cutout yoga pants, reflects that.

Finally, characters Kat and Jules also add a whole other level of representation to the show. Kat Hernandez, played by Barbie Ferreira, is a multidimensional character who is sometimes sweet and reserved or, other times, downright bold and sassy.

And her evolution as a character has inspired many plus-size women to depart from typical fashion trends and opt for more rebellious get-ups.

For instance, remember when Kat went from wearing sweater vests and cardigans to donning collars, harnesses, and corsets? What an empowering evolution!

Jules, too, represents a transgender high school student who is not afraid to experiment with “out there” fashion, either. Played by Hunter Schafer, her character is known for layering, mixing bright pops of color, and experimenting with bold makeup.

So, it comes as no shock that around the globe, nearly 133,000 Google searches related to “Euphoria” fashion were typed in every single month.

The second-place rank may be a bit more surprising, though. “Emily in Paris” actually earned the silver medal in this race to the top– gaining an average of 31,000 Google searches each month.

Starring Lily Collins, this hit comedy drama’s style takes a ton of influence from classic wardrobe staples such as blazers, tailored dresses, longline coats, and cardigans but updates them in a modern and colorful way.

Interestingly, ’80s fashion fads are also re-entering the mainstream style scene since the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things” finished as the third most fashionable show of the year.

The show first aired back in 2016, but this past May, season four of the series was released and continued to mesmerize viewers around the globe.

So, perhaps the show’s staple denim-on-denim, bold hairdos, polka dots, high-cut swimsuits, and suspenders will make an even larger comeback in 2023– since the “Stranger Things” fashion earned just under 29,000 Google searches per month.
