He then said that perhaps she could just not order dinner and order dessert, and afterward, he could take her out to wherever she wanted to go to have dinner, and he would eat dessert there.
“So I opted to just not go because I didn’t want to sit there not eating and not having a good time while everyone else was,” she said.
“My husband asked me to go so he could celebrate with the people most important to him. I told him no again and that he needed to get going before he was late. He did go but came back a little over an hour later with the kids, and they all had to go boxes.”
“He said he couldn’t think of what to tell the kids about why I didn’t go when they kept asking without lying or making me sound bad, so he just got an order for them to go and let the kids spend some time with their grandparents talking in the parking lot.”
She let her husband know that she thought he should have stayed, but he replied back that she put him in a pretty impossible position.
Her husband really wanted her to put her picky eating habits aside for just one night, but she couldn’t bring herself to do that.
She kept telling him that he should have found another restaurant for them to go to if he wanted her to go too.
She’s left wondering if it was mean of her not to go to her husband’s celebration for his promotion just because she didn’t like the menu.
