Her Wedding Is In Just A Few Weeks, And She’s Banning Her Family From Attending Because Her Sister’s Boyfriend Just Proposed At Her Bridal Shower

“After the event, my parents and most of the guests had left, and Clara was in the bathroom, so I bluntly asked Charles why he proposed, as it had upset me. He was confused and said that my parents had given him explicit permission to propose.”

“He said that they had said that I was fine with it and enjoyed sharing events with Clara. I told him that I didn’t, and he shrugged and said that he was sorry I was upset, but he couldn’t undo the proposal.”

Later on, when Clara and Charles left her bridal shower, her mom sent her a text saying thank you and wondering if they could set some time aside at her wedding ceremony to “honor” the wedding that Clara and Charles were going to have.

Well, that just made her see red.

She was instantly transported back to her childhood years and that feeling of her parents picking Clara over her and not showing up to her events at all.

She felt like her parents only came to her bridal shower because it was all about Clara, and she was worried they would make her wedding day into the Clara show too.

“I responded to my mother that she, my father, and Clara and Charles are no longer allowed to come to the wedding, and blocked all of them,” she said.

“I’m feeling bad now. Conner’s been very supportive of my decision, but I’m worried that I’m overreacting.”

“I’m embarrassed for getting so excited that my parents wanted to do something with me. A bunch of my other relatives are blowing up my phone saying that I’m impolite.”

“I suppose I am impolite for disinviting my nuclear family from the wedding so close to the actual date, but I’m also extremely hurt by all of them.”

Do you think she should take it back and invite them, even if that means having to share the spotlight with Clara at her wedding?
