Stephanie combines pimento cheese, cheddar cheese, crushed Cheez-its, and Jimmy Dean sausage in a bowl, but you can use whatever brand of sausage you prefer.
This part is optional, but you can also throw in a bit of green onion to enhance the flavor of the meat.
Then, form the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake them in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for around fifteen minutes. And that’s it.
There’s no need to limit this recipe to just New Year’s. These sausage balls would be phenomenal for other special occasions as well–birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas–you name it.
It may not be one of the most visually appealing foods you’ve ever seen but what really counts is the taste. And it tastes fantastic!
Have a happy New Year’s Eve, and enjoy those sausage balls!
