She Told Her Her Fiancé’s Family At Dinner Last Night That She Makes $300,000, And It Made Her Sister-In-Law Start Crying

Her fiancé’s little brother couldn’t believe how much she makes, and he loudly exclaimed about it before congratulating her and mentioning that she really is “impressive.”

She said thank you to her fiancé’s little brother before saying that she was willing to help him get an internship or a job in college.

As she was saying all of this, her sister-in-law began crying.

Her mother-in-law rushed to comfort her sister-in-law, and then all of a sudden, everyone at the table stopped talking.

“I immediately apologize and asked what was wrong, and she just said, “it’s just…hard seeing people make that much when I’m making $15/hour working my a** off 50 hours a week,” she said.

“She also said after that, “some people really do get everything, huh?” and then glared at me and kept crying. Then she excused herself to the bathroom, and my MIL followed.”

“Here’s my SIL’s situation: she’s currently a single mom and is pregnant with her second. She’s working a minimum-wage job to support her kid. I’m very empathetic to her situation, and my fiancé and I have extended a helping hand multiple times (e.g., babysitting, buying her child toys/other gifts/necessities, sending money and supplies, etc.).”

Her sister-in-law and mother-in-law ended up getting up from the table and walking right out of the restaurant. They didn’t come back.

Her mother-in-law later texted her to say that she was not being sensitive and owes her sister-in-law an apology.

Her sister-in-law has not said a word to her since dinner last night. Her fiancé thinks his sister was rude to get up and leave in the middle of dinner.

“See, I would apologize, but I think she owes me an apology, too,” she concluded.
