So, at the same time, she also told Sherry she was interested in Travis. More specifically, she asked Sherry to let Travis know that she would be open to meeting for coffee or something just to test the waters.
“But, that I probably would not be free until just after the new year because I am busy with work and personal stuff. Sherry said that sounded fine,” she explained.
Well, that was until this week when she overheard a conversation between Sherry and some other coworkers in the breakroom.
Apparently, Sherry and the two employees– who are also moms– were talking about their kids. And eventually, after one of the moms made a joke about spoiling their children, Sherry contributed some information about Travis.
“Travis doesn’t even make himself a sandwich. He just goes into the kitchen and sits there and pouts because he knows mama will come to do it for him,” Sherry apparently said.
Now, she rarely uses the term “ick.” But boy, hearing that come out of Sherry’s mouth sounded like a major red flag, and it made her totally turned off to even going on a first date with Travis anymore.
So, she asked if Sherry was actually being serious, and Sherry reportedly laughed, said yes, and claimed that Travis was just a “mama’s boy.”
And honestly, that was all she needed to hear. In turn, when she and the rest of the staff were leaving later that day, she decided to pull Sherry aside and reveal that she was no longer interested in going out with Travis.
If you could not have guessed it, though, Sherry was wholly confused. So, after Sherry kept pushing and pushing for her to share why she had a sudden change of heart, she was forced to come clean.
“I admitted that the sandwich thing turned me off and that I would never go out with a man who seemed so dependent or unwilling to do things by himself,” she said.
And Sherry did not take that response well. Apparently, her assistant manager became very upset and tried to tell her that since she was not a mom, she just did not understand the situation.
