He Encouraged His Girlfriend To Seek Child Support From The Father Of Her Baby, But Now The Father Has Accused Him And His Girlfriend Of Ruining An Engagement
While this man was scrolling on Tinder, he ended up meeting his girlfriend. Now, they were never “exclusive” from the beginning.
But, he claims that they got along great, and he really thought they had a shot at sharing a future together.
Then, his girlfriend got pregnant. Honestly, though, both of them were pretty excited to start a family.
Well, that was until the baby was actually born, and it became glaringly obvious that the baby was not his. So, he decided not to sign as the child’s “father” on the birth certificate.
However, he also decided not to break up with her. The one thing he did make clear about their relationship, though, was that he would be in no way financially responsible for his girlfriend’s baby.
Anyway, they had both planned for his girlfriend to take a year off of work in order to spend time with the child. In fact, she had already taken her maternity leave.
But, shortly afterward, he told his girlfriend that she needed to go after the father of the baby in order to receive child support.
Surprisingly, though, his girlfriend just was not interested in doing that because she claimed that she and the father of her baby were “friends.”
Now, he reportedly said he understood that. However, he pointed out how his girlfriend would essentially be boxing herself into a corner– forced to take over all of the financial responsibilities by herself.

“I would help her with all of the childrearing, like changing diapers and feedings, but not paying for any of it,” he added.
So, at that point, his girlfriend kind of had a wake-up call and agreed with him. Yet, over the past six months, she completely ran through her savings. Then, she ended up asking him for help purchasing baby formula and other necessities.
He stuck to his word, though, and told his girlfriend no because it was never a part of their agreement. And at that point, she was forced to reach out to the child’s father and ask for money.
According to him, the baby’s dad did give his girlfriend a few thousand dollars to purchase childcare necessities. But afterward, the baby’s father told his girlfriend never to reach out again.
“That was when she understood their ‘friendship,'” he added.
So, his girlfriend finally decided to go after her baby’s father for child support– reportedly just enough that the baby would be taken care of.
Although, it appears that the baby’s father actually had a fiancée– who ended up finding out about the entire situation and is now considering breaking off their engagement.
This pushed the baby’s father to call his girlfriend in tears, accusing them of messing up his entire life.
In fact, the father claimed that he could have easily afforded to take care of his girlfriend and the baby. So, he got accused of being a total jerk for “dragging” the father’s life “through the mud.”
Now, his girlfriend feels really terrible and has actually begun blaming him for not “just stepping up” and considering her to be a single mom.
He also admitted that he truly loves his girlfriend and the baby and has absolutely no problem raising the child with her.
“But I don’t think I should be held financially responsible when the father has resources and tried to evade responsibility,” he said.
In turn, he has now been left wondering if pushing his girlfriend to go after child support was actually the wrong thing to do or not.
