“I don’t know if I’m being paranoid or what,” Sam tells her viewers. “Documenting this just in case.”
After about 10 minutes, Sam realized that she was worrying for the right reasons. She saw the car parked down the long road she was running on.
It was an especially tricky situation because she had to run past the man in order to get to her own car.
Later on in her video, she explains that the man was parked in an area where no one could hear her cry for help if something were to happen. She stopped to assess the situation and knew that she would need her parents to come and pick her up.
As Sam filmed herself trying to find a safe place to wait for her parents, the man began to pull out of his parking spot and drive towards her. She continued to walk in the other direction, beginning to cry from fear.
Thankfully, she noticed someone in the front yard of a house that she often runs past. She told the homeowner that she was being followed and asked them if she could wait in their yard for her parents. Once her parents came, and she was safe, she contacted the police.
“Please be aware of your surroundings when you are going on runs,” Sam warns her viewers at the end of her video. “If you have a gut feeling that something doesn’t feel right, please go with that gut feeling.”
We’re so glad that Sam was able to get home safely! Trust your gut, everybody.
