That’s when she began creating Wikipedia entries for inspiring women in the science world who lacked coverage on the internet.
The first scientist she wrote about was Kim Cobb, an American scientist and professor who has done some fascinating research on the global climate by collecting coral samples.
And since writing Kim’s Wikipedia page, Jess has written hundreds more. As of 2022, she has authored over 1,700 bios.
Many important figures have begun recognizing Jess’s efforts, too. In 2019, she was honored by the late Queen Elizabeth II and made her official Birthday Honours List.
To this day, Jess continues to write Wikipedia pages for female scientists, work at Imperial College and raise significant awareness for women working in STEM.
