“They’re essential medical equipment, and I’m not going to put myself in a position to affect my health just for some photos,” she said.
Then, her sister went to complain about the situation to their mom and friends, and they all sided with the bride. Her mom then suggested that she move the equipment to her stomach, but she’s previously tried that and says it feels uncomfortable. Plus, once her insulin pump is in place, it can’t be moved for 10 days. Why can’t this poor woman just wear a shawl?
Thankfully, some family members have shown her support and are sticking up for her. Her brother heard about this situation and supposedly went off on her mom and sister, telling them how horrible they made her feel. Then, her grandfather, who is paying for a portion of the wedding, heard about this squabble and threatened not to pay if they didn’t apologize. Go grandpa!
“Now, I do think this was a bit extreme; I wasn’t looking to cause this much trouble for my mom and sister,” she added.
“But it seems to have worked because they called me to apologize and say it was wrong of them to suggest I just go without my monitor and pump, and we can find a way to dress it up instead.”
How would you have reacted if you were in her shoes?
