“The dogs had separate dog beds in the past, but they hated it, so they sleep on the sofa now,” she said.
Anyway, this meant that she ultimately told Bob that he could just sleep on an air mattress. If you could not have guessed, though, her best friend’s husband was not super happy with that sleeping arrangement and asked if he could just sleep on the sofa instead.
But, she stuck to her guns and told Bob no– reiterating that the sofa was where the dogs slept.
“And Bob didn’t like it, but he accepted,” she recalled.
But, come the following morning, it was clear that her best friend’s husband was unhappy. Apparently, Bob kept complaining about how the air mattress had deflated during the night.
He also claimed that he was so uncomfortable he was barely able to sleep the entire night before proceeding to make sarcastic comments about both her and her dogs. Now, she really did not believe Bob’s complaints and thought he was just whining.
“I checked, and the air mattress was fine,” she vented.
Nonetheless, her husband still believes that they should both apologize to Bob for sticking him on the air mattress instead of letting him sleep on the pull-out sofa. So now, she has been left wondering whether letting her dogs sleep on the couch instead of her best friend’s husband was a really jerky thing to do or not.
Do you think it was generous of her to let Bob stay over in the first place? Was he acting entitled by trying to pick and choose his sleeping arrangements after being an unexpected guest? Should she feel bad for letting her dogs sleep where they normally do and putting Bob on the air mattress? If you had been in her shoes, would you have done the same?
