It guts him to have to be honest with the way that his fiancée looks, and he really does love her a lot.
They never get into fights, and they both are parents to a wonderful little boy, so aside from her weight, everything is excellent.
“Other than some laziness on her part, and sometimes mine, we get on extremely well,” he said. “But I think it’s normal to be attracted to your partner, and I’m just not.”
“…My eyes do wander in the gym when I see a girl in great shape, I really wish I had that, and the thing that makes it worse is that my previous…partners did look like that…”
His fiancée also constantly talks about how she is in pain or dizzy, and he is aware that it all comes down to the fact that she’s not healthy.
She also only pretty much eats chicken nuggets or chips, and it also makes it harder for him to eat healthy when his home is full of junk food.
Recently, the topic of his fiancée’s size came up, and he lied to her face about how he truly feels.
“I lied for her mental well-being and told her I was still attracted to her regardless of her size,” he continued.
“I don’t know why I said it, perhaps wanting to be nice, but I feel like I’ve really (messed) up by lying to her.”
“I always wanted an active girlfriend I could explore with, but I have essentially the opposite. I would have left by now if it wasn’t for my son. But I deserve happiness too.”
He knows he messed up big time by not being honest, and he’s left wondering how to handle things moving forward.
What advice would you give him?
