“I wanted to respect his quality time with his brother, so I didn’t bother calling or texting,” she explained. “I let him have his space, and I trusted him.”
She didn’t hear from Jake that entire weekend, only receiving word from him the next Monday to let her know he had gotten home safely.
Then, she discovered some photos of him from the weekend that had been posted on Facebook. Spoiler alert, he was not camping.
“He went to Pittsburgh with Samantha and two to three ‘mutual friends’ from the church group,” she said. “His brother was nowhere to be seen. It looked like they rented a hotel room, and the alcohol was plentiful.”
She was heartbroken and went to his apartment, where she showed him the photos and confronted him. He owned up to his lie but still said that nothing happened between him and Samantha.
“He swears nothing happened, but I have no reason to believe that,” she added. “I can’t say that I was completely blindsided by this, but I don’t feel that I can trust him. I dumped him right then and there.”
A few days later, he’s been telling her he wants to get back together and is begging for forgiveness.
Do you think she could ever trust him again?
