“…I said if he would have been more observant, he would have known that I absolutely hate the color grey (it’s my least favorite color), and everyone in my life who knows me knows that.”
She didn’t think that what she said to her dad was mean because she claims she was simply being honest.
Later on, her mom called her to say that she really did hurt her dad with what she said, and her dad really put a lot of effort and money into the gift.
Her mom now expects her to say sorry for tossing out her dad’s birthday gift, but she believes she doesn’t owe her dad an apology at all.
“I don’t think that’s necessary, I think after my dad gave me the stand mixer, it became mine, and I could do anything with it,” she said.
“And I didn’t “throw it away,” I gave it to a friend.”
