At that point, she was done being put down by her mother-in-law and finally stood up for herself.
“It’s so ironic and hypocritical of you to keep lecturing me on the state of my house as if I don’t live with someone that you raised,” she snapped.
After she said that, her mother-in-law reportedly went silent; meanwhile, her husband just stared at her in complete shock. And from that point on, the dinner was ruined. Things immediately turned awkward, and before she knew it, her husband stormed out, and the dinner got cut short.
Later that evening, once she and her husband arrived home, she also wound up getting yelled at for insulting and humiliating her husband by implying that he was “a lazy, dirty bum.”
On top of that, her husband claimed that she made a “cheap attempt” to drag him into the situation when she should have just kept the conflict between herself and her mother-in-law.
Ever since that big argument, her husband has remained seriously upset, too, and refuses to speak to her. In fact, her husband even went to go stay with his brother and has been super cold to her.
“He’s now saying I used him as a tool to get back at his mom and that he was innocent and shouldn’t have been humiliated like that,” she vented.
So, she has been left wondering whether standing up to her mother-in-law and “insulting” her husband was the wrong way to handle the situation.
Can you believe her husband barely works, barely cleans, and doesn’t stand up for her when her mother-in-law is so rude? Did she have a right to put her mother-in-law in her place? Would you have done the same if you were in her shoes?
