One week ago, her dad’s family actually gave her phone number to her stepsister, and she was shocked when her stepsister reached out to ask if she could babysit for her.
Apparently, her stepsister found out that she babysits for her brother, so her stepsister figured she would say yes to doing the same for her. She told her stepsister she would not agree to babysit for her, but her stepsister wasn’t willing to accept no so quickly.
“She tried to pull the family card, and I told her we were never family and to ask her parents for help or the people who gave her my contact info,” she said.
“Then I told my aunts and uncles whoever give her my info was wrong. My aunt, who gave it to her, said it wouldn’t have killed me to get to know my niece and to help my stepsister when I do it for my brother all the time.”
“I told her the difference is he’s my brother, and his kids are my nieces and nephews, and my stepsister and her kid are not those things.”
Even though she told her stepsister no, her stepsister called her another time, still wanting her to babysit. She didn’t pick up the phone, and then her stepsister texted her, calling her a mean name.
Her aunt then found out about her refusing to babysit for her stepsister, and her aunt believes she’s just “being petty.”
She’s left wondering if it’s wrong of her to say no to babysitting for her stepsister. What do you think?
