Although the bride-to-be seemed fine when she first said no, she heard that she was ranting about her to her brother-in-law behind her back.
Her future sister-in-law accused her of acting cold and suggested she was lying about not having enough time to be a Maid of Honor since she’s still technically on maternity leave.
Later, her husband got a call from his brother, who told him she should be more accommodating. So she got on the phone and said she’d reconsider being Maid of Honor as long as the bride helped cover at least half of the responsibilities.
Then, she got an angry call from her future sister-in-law.
“The next day, she calls me and asks me why I’m being so difficult,” she recalled. “She says I’m the only one in the bridal party not working and that I should step up.”
She had to remind the bride that although she is still on maternity leave, caring for her baby is a full-time job. Her future sister-in-law ended their phone call, still upset. Now, she’s wondering if she should be more accommodating to the bride-to-be to avoid any more drama.
What would you do if you were in her position?
