Then, her boyfriend suddenly decided that he wanted to go, but he wanted to stay in a hotel. Not only that, but he expected her to help pay for a pricey hotel room.
If they stayed in a hotel for a week, it could cost them up to $1,000, and she doesn’t have that kind of money.
She suggested they stay at her hometown friend’s house as a possible solution since she has a spare bedroom. However, her boyfriend said that would make him uncomfortable.
“I told him I wasn’t sure on what I can do because I can’t afford to pitch in for a hotel,” she recalled. “He got really upset and brought up all the trips and all the money he’s spent in the six months we’ve been together.”
Her boyfriend continued to criticize her, telling her that she made him feel awful. He feels that she cares more about going home than spending time with him and that she should put as much effort into finding them a place to stay as he did in the past.
Is her boyfriend overreacting, or should she give in and put money towards a hotel room?
