After her sister asked about her niece being the flower girl, she explained all of this, too. Rather than just leaving it alone, though, her sister-in-law asked if her fiancé’s daughter could just carry her niece down the aisle also!
“I said I don’t think she would be comfortable with that, considering she is 6,” she recalled.
Then, her sister-in-law asked why she couldn’t just give that role to her niece– and allow her sister-in-law to carry her niece down the aisle as the flower girl.
Obviously, though, she just pointed out how she had already promised the role to her future stepdaughter.
But shockingly, her sister-in-law had a major issue with that. In fact, her sister-in-law apparently started going off on her about how her lack of effort in incorporating her niece into her wedding was “disgusting.”
She also got told that she should be “honoring” her niece in some way– being that she knew how long and hard her brother and sister-in-law tried to conceive.
Quite frankly, though, her sister-in-law’s accusations really got under her skin, and she wound up snapping.
“Incorporate my niece, how?” she asked her sister-in-law.
“By the time the wedding comes around, she’ll be 2-years-old. The entire family already knows your story about how long and hard you guys tried for her. What more do you expect me to do to honor her?”
After she said that, her sister-in-law ended up crying and claiming that she “clearly” did not love her “one and only niece.” She also got accused of letting her niece down.
She obviously loves her niece, though, and wants her niece to be involved in photos and other traditions. However, she refuses to let her stepdaughter down by giving her niece a role in the wedding when her niece is still too young to even remember it.
