When Lance started dating Teresa, their family immediately knew she was special. For one, Lance didn’t introduce her to the family during the holidays, which caught everyone off guard.
Furthermore, they all liked Teresa from the moment they met her. Their dad couldn’t find one thing he disliked about her.
So when Lance first told his brother he was going to ask Teresa to marry him, his brother cried tears of happiness for the first time in his life.

“So Lance, you can go on and get married and move away and be a dad and have children and do all the adult things that you want to do, but no matter what, you’ll always be my little brother with a speech impediment.”
“And I’ll always have your back. Always. And god willing, I’ll be waiting for you at your 70th birthday party,” he concluded his speech.
