Little did they know the GoFundMe page would spread like wildfire, and tons of people would be ready to help Devonte and his family.
“So grateful for this fundraiser and that I was able to donate,” commented one donor.
“Wishing the best for Devonte and his family! Blessings to your wonderful little boy who made this happen!”
Currently, the page has raised over $108,000 for the Gardner family. The money has been put towards a clean two-bedroom apartment that they’ll comfortably be able to afford month-to-month.
There’s extra money for furnishing their new home and buying them a reliable vehicle. Devonte said he’s determined to save any additional donations to ensure that he and his family never have to worry about their living situation again.
“You know, I’m always counting my blessings, always,” Devonte told THV11 in response to all the love he’s received online. “Thanks. Anything that anybody gives me. So this is… it made me almost cry.”
Kayzen and Devonte certainly have a lot in common, the most significant thing being their kind spirits, which have taken them a long way. Best of luck to these two friends!
