Brian started complaining that the crunching noise was “killing him” and said he would “lose it” because the nachos had black olives on them, which he believes is wrong.
Instead of trying to help Brian calm down, his in-laws and wife began saying he really messed up and had made his brother-in-law uncomfortable.
This made him snap at them, saying that the long list of things they’re not allowed to do around Brian was getting ridiculous, and he couldn’t keep up.
His wife said she tried to warn him, but he reminded her that she never ended up telling him why he shouldn’t have ordered the nachos.
Brian and his in-laws ended up leaving the restaurant and left him to pay the bill. Things between him and his wife have been very tense ever since.
He acknowledges that how he expressed his feelings restaurant was unacceptable, but he still thinks he said something that needed to be said.
How can he resolve his issues with his brother-in-law?
