“So, Kevin’s daughters have expected me to let him live with me so they can return home to their families and jobs.”
This is not what she was expecting to happen. She stayed with Kevin in the hospital but figured his daughters would handle things once they got there.
Instead, she had to explain to his daughters that she shouldn’t be expected to care for Kevin, considering that they’re divorced for a reason. Although they’re good at co-parenting, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’d be good roommates.
When she told Kevin’s daughters no, they started guilt-tripping her. They told her she should do it for Adam because he might grow up seeing her as a bad mom for not taking in his sick father.
Once she refused again, his daughters became very angry and called her names. They’re primarily upset because at least one of them will have to take time off work and stay far away from home for a little while, despite her and Adam living 20 minutes away.
After thinking things over, she wonders if she should have said yes to caring for Kevin.
“This is clearly a difficult situation for everyone involved, and I’m refusing to help out just because I don’t want to live in the same house as Kevin again,” she added.
Do you think she should let Kevin live with her or leave it to his daughters?
