“I’ve tried to talk to her about it, but she always says that she’d never do anything to hurt me, and she’s just ‘living her life,’ which doesn’t even make sense,” she explained.
Since she started asking her friend to stop, things haven’t gotten better, so she’s been avoiding hanging out with her as much.
But recently, she couldn’t hold in her frustrations any longer when four of her brothers dropped her, her friend, and a few others off at school. When they got inside, a bunch of girls asked her friend if those were the “hot men” she had been telling them about.
She snapped and called out her friend in front of everyone, telling her she needed to stop using her siblings for “petty clout.” She also told her to quit using her brothers to create a fantasy life.
Later that day, her friend called her and told her she wanted to take a break from their friendship. She also told her she was controlling and jealous that she started getting close to her brothers, although she knows that isn’t remotely true.
“All of my brothers so far have told me to just stop being friends with her, but she’s been really important in my life for a long time, and I don’t want to ruin what we have,” she said.
“But at the same time, I don’t want to keep letting her use my life for her fantasy.”
Should she try and hold on to her friendship or cut it off?
