His Father-In-Law Overheard Him “Scolding” The Monster Under His 4-Year-Old Daughter’s Bed And Told Him That His Daughter Was Old Enough To Fight Nightmares By Herself

“And it’s time Mary learned how to fight her own bad dreams,” his father-in-law added.

But honestly, those comments made him really angry. He ended up just marching past his father-in-law, returning to his bedroom, and relaying what happened to his wife.

Then, before his daughter woke up the following morning, he decided to put his foot down. He claimed his father-in-law had no right trying to tell him how he should raise his daughter.

And thankfully, his wife stood by him and backed him up– recalling how her mother had done the exact same thing for her when she was a little kid.

His father-in-law was taken aback, though, and thought he and his wife were seriously overreacting.

“But I disagree,” he vented.

So now, he’s been left wondering whether standing up to his father-in-law and defending his monster “scolding” was the wrong thing to do or not.

Did you still believe in monsters when you were 4-years-old? Is his father-in-law right, or is Mary still allowed to ask for her parent’s help and reassurance? Would you have gotten annoyed by your father-in-law’s comments, too?
