His Sister Is Angry With Him For Pointing Out That She’s The One To Blame For Her Daughter Wanting Nothing To Do With Her

“Now my niece has gone from indifferent to annoyed at having to spend 90 minutes every Saturday chatting with a stranger,” he explained. “She’d now prefer not to see my sister again.”

His sister complied with her daughter’s wishes, but she’s been beside herself ever since. She feels as though all that work she did to get sober and change her life was for nothing now that her daughter doesn’t want to see her anymore. She said it felt like her daughter was taken away from her all over again.

“I reminded her that the girl has no attachment to her, and that’s her fault for doing drugs while pregnant,” he said. “She should’ve stayed clean, and this is the consequence of that mistake.”

His sister was very hurt by his words and told him he was being unsympathetic. She said he has no idea what it’s like to have a child taken away and threw a few insults at him.

Word of their argument got around to their mom, who told him that while she agreed with what he said, he shouldn’t have told his sister those things.

Should he apologize to his sister for being too harsh?
