But, after her sister-in-law saw the donation pile she created and realized how many items she planned to donate, there was some serious drama.
First, she got accused of directly insulting her sister-in-law’s generosity. Then, after she tried to explain how the clothing would still be worn by other people after being donated, she got called “draconian” and “snobby.”
On top of that, her sister-in-law even claimed that her kids were afraid to truly express who they were through their clothing because of her.
“I admit that when she said this, I did laugh,” she revealed.
“Because my son is one of those kids who goes to school with nail polish and does things like slam poetry and chalk drawing clubs.”
Still, her sister-in-law’s comments have started to rub her the wrong way. So now, she’s been left wondering whether donating some of the clothes from her sister-in-law over the years actually makes her a jerk.
What do you think about her no branded clothing rule? Do you agree that it makes her snobby or not? Does her sister-in-law have a right to be upset that she is donating the clothing? How can she reconcile this situation?
