It can be argued that the influence of social media has contributed to this generation of children trying to grow up too quickly.
With all the Snapchat filters out there that drastically alter the appearance of your face, young people are feeling the pressure to look more polished and fit the beauty standards that celebrities and influencers on these social media apps are pushing.
Instead of enjoying their childhoods, kids are eager to begin engaging in adult activities they might’ve seen online.
It’s important to discuss with your child what is age-appropriate and what is not. But, of course, that all depends on each parent’s beliefs.
Some parents may not see any harm in letting their daughters wear mascara, while others might be adamantly against it.
What do you think? Should fourth graders be wearing mascara? Would you let your child wear makeup to school?
