She walked up to him and hugged him, but he reacted strangely.
“To my disappointment, he just sort of aced his palms on my back, like he was put off,” she recalled.
Wanting to make a good first impression, she complimented him on his looks and told him she was happy that he asked her out.
However, he looked confused and shockingly turned to the group he was with and asked them who had put her up to this.
She told him they met on Tinder and that she was the girl he’d been talking to for a while, but he was still confused.
He even showed her that he didn’t have Tinder downloaded to his phone. She showed him the profile she matched with that had his pictures, but he was still puzzled.
Humiliated and freaked out, she apologized for the mix-up and returned to her car. While walking, she received a text from the guy she had been talking to that said, “HAHAHA.”
When she got home, she discovered that the mystery profile had been deleted, and she blocked the phone number to be safe.
“I did a reverse image search on Google and found the Facebook profile of the guy that I actually met,” she explained.
“His name wasn’t the same, and he was actually a few years older. I also figured out he was a dive instructor at the shop. I felt so betrayed and violated.”
Someone who knew the real guy created a fake profile of him and used it to trick innocent women. Isn’t that awful?
