That’s why his ex-wife came to the conclusion that she needed to learn what was going on “in Clarie’s head.” So, she actually wound up confiscating Claire’s sketchbook– which was where his daughter let her feelings out.
Afterward, his ex-wife proceeded to go through the entire book and suggested that what she found was “disturbing.”
Now, he claimed that, in the past, his daughter had actually shown him the sketchbook before. And he believed nothing inside was disturbing whatsoever.
Nonetheless, Jessica did not agree and even wound up bringing Claire to a psychologist to get an evaluation!
“Spoiler alert: they didn’t find anything,” he explained.
“My daughter is completely mentally healthy, except for– surprise, surprise– stress from her stepsiblings.”
Anyway, he picked up Claire this past Sunday for his week with his daughter. And for the first few hours she was at his house, Claire stayed holed up in her bedroom sketching.
Then, during dinner, his daughter wound up coming clean about what happened.
In an attempt to make her feel better at the time, he decided to make Claire a surprise pancake breakfast the following morning. But later, his daughter ultimately asked if she could just leave her sketchbook at his house.
That way, her mom– his ex-wife– could not look through it. He thought that was a fine idea, too, and agreed. So, Claire returned home to her mother’s house without the sketchbook.
Just yesterday, though, he received a text from his ex-wife. In the message, Jessica claimed to be “worried” that Claire had “forgotten her sketchbook” at her house.
