He Keeps Walking Out Of Class Against His Teacher’s Wishes Because He’s Mute, And His Teacher Wants Him To Write Whatever He Needs On The Board In Front Of The Whole Class

However, this particular educator wants him to specify exactly what he needs when he leaves– such as the bathroom, food, or water– by writing it on the board.

“I feel like I’m being singled out as stupid. It’s insulting and embarrassing,” he vented.

That’s why, recently, he hasn’t bothered listening to his teacher. Instead, he has just been walking out of the classroom anyway– which has really started to upset her.

And even though his friends are on his side, his teacher recently called his mom and talked to her about the issue. So, ever since then, his mom has just urged him to just listen to his teacher.

Nonetheless, he still does not think the situation is fair. That’s why he’s been left wondering whether going against his teacher’s instructions and just walking out of his classroom actually makes him a jerk or not.

Is it fair that he feels singled out in class? Do you think he’s in the wrong for doing what makes him most comfortable? Is it his teacher’s job to find a system that works for him? How would you handle this situation?
