Her Younger Sister Wanted To Travel To Japan To Visit Her For A Post-Grad Vacation, But Had To Cancel After Their Parents Tried To Take Control Over Where She’d Stay

“I agreed that it was an option but told him that I’d talk it over with my sister first,” she said.

“While I knew that she’d love to have more money to spend on merch or clothes, she probably also wanted a trip without any of her family breathing down her neck.”

Her sister was super upset when she heard about this proposal. She was very determined to have a mostly solo vacation and already booked most of the hotels she had found.

Now, she’d have to jump through a bunch of hoops to try and cancel them and get her money back.

Additionally, her sister thinks her apartment is too cramped and small to fit both of them for two weeks.

She understood her sister’s frustrations and told her that they could secretly make hotel arrangements once she got to Japan without their parents knowing.

But it was too late; her sister was already frustrated and ticked off, so she had a meltdown. Her sister said she might as well not go if everyone was going to dictate what she’d be doing.

“My parents called the next day to say that her trip was canceled,” she explained.

“She didn’t want to go anymore, and no amount of convincing or itinerary changes would change that. I feel awful because she’d been looking forward to coming here for years.”

She’s starting to think that she shouldn’t have interfered with planning her sister’s trip in the first place.

Although she recognizes that her sister is being a bit of a brat, she can understand where she’s coming from.
