To be clear, he claimed he didn’t want to break up with his girlfriend, either. Apparently, he made it very clear from the beginning of their relationship that cheating was actually a deal-breaker for him.
“But now, I’m the one who cheated,” he explained. “I couldn’t look into her eyes and thought that even if we continued our relationship, it wouldn’t go far.”
While his girlfriend did admit to feeling hurt by his infidelity, though, she was actually willing to work through it together.
Still, he is not even able to face her due to the enormous guilt he feels right now. So, he honestly feels pretty pessimistic about the future of their relationship if they were to stay together.
“I don’t want to hurt her anymore, and I don’t know what would be best for her,” he vented.
That’s why he’s been left wondering whether he should break up with his girlfriend or try to work on their relationship together.
Would you be as understanding as his girlfriend if you were in her shoes? Do you think they could work through this together and come out stronger on the other side? At the same time, does it seem like he still wants to be with his girlfriend? What do you think he should do?
