Once it stops bubbling, remove it from the water and let it drain out. You may think this is somewhat excessive and that you’re at risk of drowning your plant, but azaleas need to stay hydrated, and submerging the whole pot of them into water is an effective way of doing so.
However, they should never be soggy, only damp. In addition, do not fertilize them until after flowering is complete.
It’s a challenge to get greenhouse azaleas to bloom again. Usually, they’re more of a one-and-done type of flower. But it’s possible, and the reward will be worth it!
So after the blooms have died down, fertilize the azalea plant every two weeks. When the weather warms up, you’ll have to take them outside. At the first sign of a chill in the weather during autumn, bring them back indoors.
Azaleas require a substantial amount of effort to grow, but if you put in the work, they will produce blooms that any houseguests will be impressed by.
