Her boyfriend admitted to hooking up with her best friend on multiple occasions, but he never ended up feeling anything for her.
“He is really sorry about it but won’t say a bad word about our friend (which I really appreciate),” she said.
“He explained that at that time, he never thought he’d actually get a chance to be with me, so it was a rather stupid out-of-the-moment decision.”
“He told me that it was my best friend who suggest never talking about it again, though (he wanted to tell me way earlier).”
She isn’t sure how to feel, but she does know that she’s upset and feels like her boyfriend and best friend stabbed her in the back.
“A lot of my strong feelings are probably fuelled by the fact that my best friend has always been the more popular one out of us two and could easily get whoever she wanted to like her,” she continued.
“She has never been after someone I was into before, though. But I can’t help feeling crushed by the fact that I can’t ever have anyone or anything just for myself.”
She’s left wondering how she should address the former hookup situation with her boyfriend and best friend since lately she’s not been speaking to them as she sorts through her emotions.
How can she get over knowing that her best friend and her boyfriend used to be a thing?
