So, she admitted that her friend had really let himself go– at least in a physical sense.
“And maybe he didn’t even let himself go. These are the consequences of the mental pressures he has been facing,” she explained.
“He is now somewhat overweight, and he shaved his head because he started losing his hair.”
That’s why, even though she knows that Jake is an amazing person who has survived a lot of turmoil, she kind of thinks that Jake’s Tinder profile is borderline catfishing since she knows what he truly looks like now.
Obviously, the photos are of him. But, she claimed it was hard to even recognize Jake now by just looking at the photos.
So, she realized that all of the girls Jake met up with were probably shocked and might have even felt tricked. She also admitted how, if she were in that situation, she probably wouldn’t want to go out on a second date, either.
Still, she decided to hold her tongue at first. Well, that was until all of her friends headed outside to smoke– leaving just her and Jake inside the restaurant.
At that point, once they were alone, she simply asked Jake if he had ever considered updating his Tinder profile with a few more recent photos.
Jake immediately shot that idea down, though, and said he liked the pictures he already had.
But, she genuinely wanted to help her friend out and tried to gently explain her perspective.
“Well, you know, I’m sure you want your Tinder photos to reflect who you are. You should post nice and flattering pics, but you still want to be you!” she told Jake.
