“After the story, I spoke up, telling her that I didn’t feel comfortable attending a wedding when I knew she was the reason some children lost their father,” she remembered.
“She and the rest of the girls started to chew me out.”
They all started telling her she was horrible and wrong for not supporting Kate and her fiancé. She stood by her morals and told them she didn’t want to celebrate a marriage that was tearing apart a family before hanging up on them.
She left their text group chat but still received texts from everyone, including Kate, telling her that the man leaving his wife was not that big of a deal. They all believe she should still attend the wedding.
Now, she’s debating whether or not she should. On the one hand, she wants to keep her friends, but she also can’t stand the thought of watching Kate and her fiancé say “I do,” knowing all the heartbreak that happened behind the scenes.
“No matter how I spin it, it feels wrong,” she added.
