“I didn’t say anything at first, but I guess she could tell that I was really upset and asked what was wrong,” he recalled.
“I told her that she needed to stop emasculating me and making it seem like I didn’t contribute anything to the household.”
“We were arguing back and forth, and she told me that she would stop calling me a house husband if I was going to ‘get that upset about it’ but that it wasn’t an untrue term and I needed to stop being insecure.”
Since his wife refuses to apologize for calling him a “house husband,” he’s been refusing to do his part in caring for the house.
Now, he only cooks for himself and leaves all the chores for Bella. It’s gotten so bad that when Bella gets home from work, she just makes herself some food, does the chores, and then goes to sleep at a friend’s house.
He spoke to his sister about the incident, who believes Bella’s nickname for him was wrong, but his response to everything was immature. Now, he’s unsure what to do because he doesn’t want to “give in” and have Bella treat him like she was before.
Is he being immature by stopping all of his household duties?
