When she and her sister returned home, her sister started viciously ranting about that friend. Her sister started saying some mean things and called the friend dumb for preferring the name Lark over her current one.
“This isn’t the first time my sister got annoyed with people who were shocked that she changed her name, and it’s not the first time she has admitted wanting to yell in the face of someone who complimented her old name,” she said.
“This time was the most angry she got though.”
Then, her sister started trashing their parents for their name choices, which was when she tried to get her to calm down. She told her sister she shouldn’t be so hard on their parents since they supported her name change. Plus, she likes being named Indigo, so whenever her sister insults her parents’ decision, she also feels insulted.
She told her sister she was being “too extreme” in how she reacted to people talking about her old name and that it wasn’t healthy to get so angry about it. Unfortunately, her sister was furious. Now, she’s wondering if she made a mistake by saying those things.
Should she not have told her sister she was being too extreme?
