From there, he tried to get in touch with Stella by phone, text, and email for a week, but she didn’t get back to him.
Since he wasn’t able to get information about his invitation from either Alex or Stella, he assumed that this meant he wasn’t invited to the wedding after all and that there was tension that he didn’t understand.
Then, a few days ago, three weeks after his last communication with Alex, Alex sent him a message asking if he had time to talk.
Since he really wanted to find out more about what was going on, he agreed to video chat with Alex.
At first, they both just made quick small talk, and Alex said that he knows he’s very swamped with work and has a lot of other life struggles currently going on, but he was wondering if he was still able to attend his wedding as a guest.
“He wanted to know if there was anything he could do to help make this happen. I just blurted out that I’d love to but hadn’t received an invitation,” he explained.
“Alex stared blankly at me and said, ‘What?’ and I just kind of blurted out that I hadn’t received an invitation, that was the reason I’d called him a few weeks ago, that I’d contacted Stella about it, but she’d never gotten back to me and left me on read, and that I had no idea what he was talking about with me dealing with too much to be involved in the wedding.”
Alex was quiet for a few seconds before saying that he needed to go figure this all out, and he’d let him know after he’d gotten everything sorted.
“My phone’s blowing up with wedding attendees asking me what happened and why the wedding might be off now,” he shared.
He talked to his girlfriend about the situation, and she didn’t think he messed up when he let Alex know that he hadn’t received a wedding invitation.
Unfortunately, several people have told him that he should have minded his own business and it was his fault that Alex and Stella may not be getting married now.
