His Stepmom Is Pressuring Him To Share His Inheritance With His Step-Siblings Even Though He Doesn’t Want To

“But, at the same time, I also feel like this inheritance was my grandfather’s way of looking out for me, specifically,” he admitted.

“Plus, I have plans for the money, like paying off my own debts and investing in a home.”

Ever since confiding in some of his friends, though, he’s received mixed responses about what he should do. On the one hand, some of his friends believe that he’s not obligated to share the funds since his grandfather chose to leave all of the money just to him.

But other friends of his think that he’s just being selfish. Moreover, they claim that, since he’s part of a family, he should want to help out his step-siblings.

So, he’s split on what to do now, too. One part of him wants to honor his grandfather’s last wishes and use the money to fund his future.

“On the other hand, I wonder if I’m being unfair to my step-siblings,” he vented.

And now, this has left him wondering if wanting to keep all the money to himself instead of sharing the inheritance with his step-siblings makes him a real jerk or not.

Can you understand why he doesn’t want to share the inheritance? Do you think he’s obligated to share after his grandfather intentionally left all of the money to him? What would you do if you were in his shoes?
