Eight years ago, this 36-year-old woman was eight months pregnant, and her then-husband walked out on their marriage to be with a woman he’d met on the internet.

As he was leaving, he told her he’d never wanted to be a father, and he warned her not to list him on her will before she passed away because he didn’t want to be part of their child’s life in any way.

Today, her daughter is 8-years-old and flourishing. She’s chosen to be single, has a great career, and is financially stable. Her daughter’s teacher constantly praises her for how kind and caring her daughter is toward her classmates.

Yesterday, several mothers invited her to hang out with them while their children played together. During their conversation, some of the mothers asked her if she was dating or in a relationship.

She explained that she wasn’t dating anyone and didn’t want to, adding that she was preoccupied with work and raising her daughter.

“Then, Tracy (one of the moms) said I’m hurting my daughter! ‘She needs a dad! She will grow up with massive daddy issues and end up being attracted to old losers,'” she said.

She assured Tracy that she wasn’t concerned, especially because her brother, her daughter’s uncle, is a wonderful, positive male influence in her daughter’s life.

Tracy was annoyed and rolled her eyes before asking if she considered having more children so her daughter didn’t grow up without brothers and/or sisters.

According to Tracy, it was awful for a child not to have siblings. She thanked Tracy for her advice but once again assured her that her daughter was content.
