This 22-year-old girl has a 27-year-old best friend, who is male, and he recently said something very upsetting to her that has resulted in her questioning her self-worth.

Everything started after her mom requested that she change her profile picture online, which happened because her mom is on the conservative side and didn’t agree with what she had up.

The picture she had set was of her in a black sundress, and you could see a bit of her cleavage in the photo.

Normally, she posts somewhat revealing photos, like she enjoys taking photos of her new belly button piercing or of her cleavage. She’s pretty much always dressed in a crop top with jeans or a dress.

But anyway, her mom’s request irritated her, so she went to one of her guy friends about it.

“I was frustrated and discussed this with a guy friend who said no guy would want anything more from you than just a short-term relationship because you posting pictures like that shows you have no self-respect,” she explained.

“And I felt particularly very hurt at that. I am in business school, have a nice job, and have a nice apartment. I’m doing fairly well in life, and I felt I was on my way to finding someone who would want me in a long-term relationship.”

“However, this conversation definitely made me question my worth and esteem, and I ended up removing all pictures from Instagram that showed any cleavage, and I’m considering changing my pictures on Hinge as well.”

The comment her friend made has caused her to think twice about all of the clothes in her closet. She also has been second-guessing her worth.
