She Said Her Mother-In-Law Isn’t Allowed Over If Her Husband Isn’t Home Because Her Baby Absolutely Freaks Out Whenever Her Mother-In-Law Is Around

This woman and her husband have a 5-month-old daughter, and unfortunately, their daughter screams nonstop whenever her mother-in-law is around. Their baby doesn’t calm down until her husband’s mother is out of sight. Their daughter doesn’t scream when anybody else comes over.

In her husband’s view, this happens because their daughter doesn’t see his mother too much. However, she doesn’t think this makes sense because her mother-in-law visits them once or twice weekly. None of their other close friends or family members visit as much as her husband’s mother. All their other loved ones have only seen their daughter once or twice.

When she compares how her daughter reacted when her mother met her versus how her daughter always reacts toward her husband’s mother, the behavior couldn’t be more different. Her daughter wiggled around to try to break free from her arms because she wanted to be held by her mother.

The whole time her mother and daughter bonded, her daughter smiled and laughed. However, she believes her daughter despises her mother-in-law since she never stops screaming when she sees her. Because of this, she hates it when her husband’s mother visits, even though she’s always adored her mother-in-law.

Over the years, she gushed to her close friends and family about how grateful she was to have such a wonderful mother-in-law when so many other people she knows have tension with their mothers-in-law. Her views on this haven’t changed, but it’s stressful when her daughter screams non-stop when her husband’s mother is around.

She clarified that since she likes her mother-in-law, her daughter isn’t sensing any tension and reacting to it. While some babies react negatively to certain scents, her mother-in-law has a skin condition, so she uses only unscented products.

So, her daughter isn’t screaming due to a particular scent. She pointed out that recently, while her daughter was in the living room in a play seat, she began screaming before her mother-in-law even entered the room.

“My husband and his mom try forcing a bond by passing my daughter to my mother-in-law and having my mother-in-law rock her and try to soothe her, and she’s holding her breath and screaming the entire time. But it really set my irritation in stone when my mother-in-law said, ‘Cry all you want; you won’t get your way; I don’t play that game,'” she said.

After that, her mother-in-law walked out of the room while still holding her daughter, as her daughter was reaching out her arms to try to get away from her mother-in-law and back to her. Her mother-in-law’s comments toward her daughter were the last straw, so she took her daughter away from her mother-in-law.
