Sometimes, while we love our elderly relatives, we have to bring them back down to earth and snap them out of their prejudiced or old-fashioned way of thinking.

One woman recently snapped at her grandma, who has been very judgmental of her brother’s fiancée.

She’s 28 and has a 25-year-old brother named Dean, who is getting married to his 23-year-old girlfriend, Sonia.

Her family quickly fell in love with Sonia when they met her, all except one member – her grandma.

Her grandma is a stubborn woman who can be critical and judgmental of many things, and that’s been especially true with how she treats Sonia. Since Dean and Sonia have gotten together, she’s been skeptical of Sonia’s intentions.

Her grandma has said things like, “She seems nice, but you never know what these girls can be hiding,” and “They seem in love, but who knows if it’s just an act.”

Unfortunately, even though Dean and Sonia are very serious about their marriage, her grandma’s harsh remarks haven’t stopped. Recently, Dean and Sonia told the family they were having difficulty settling on a wedding venue.

Her grandma then texted her and said Dean was having “trouble in paradise” and that if he and Sonia couldn’t even settle on a venue, they probably weren’t meant to be together.

Annoyed with her grandma’s remarks, she texted her back and defended her brother. She wrote, “Since when does trouble planning a wedding indicate marital troubles? I don’t know a single couple whose wedding planning [was] smooth sailing. Planning a wedding is stressful.”
