He Doesn’t Think His 12-Year-Old Son Is Ready To Get A Cell Phone, But His Son Feels Alienated Since Most Of His Peers Have Phones Already

The rest of his family has since heard about this debacle, too, and everyone is actually torn. Some of his relatives believe that he and his wife should just give their son a phone so he can easily interact with his friends.

“While others respect our worries, yet think it could be worthwhile to give him more independence,” he vented.

This has left him wondering if not allowing his son to have a cell phone yet is the right decision or if he should give in.

Do you think there’s a one-size-fits-all answer for when kids should get cell phones? Or is every child different? What advice would you give him?
