After discovering this evidence, it became clearer that Edward was a hitman tasked with the assignment of killing Susan, and her husband hired him.
Police arrested Michael and charged him with criminal conspiracy to commit murder. During his trial, Susan testified and allegedly told him that while she was damaged by what had happened, she was not “destroyed.”
Michael pled guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Later, Susan sued him for $1 million, and he passed away due to natural causes behind bars in 2014.
It’s hard to fathom learning that the person who wanted you killed in such a violent way was once the person who told you they’d love you forever at the altar years before. Despite that, Susan showed tremendous strength and bravery and survived.
